How to change the URL parameters without entering in the API QM platform

If you wish to adjust the parameters of your query on our API Query Manager product without accessing the Dataslayer platform, don't worry. This article will provide you with an alternative approach to achieving your goal.

As you know we have three copying options:
Copy Short URL: This one is encrypted, you will not be able to see the selected parameters.
Copy URL: This is not encrypted, and you will be able to see all the parameters you have selected.
Copy Decoded URL: This one is the URL already decoded.

In order to change the parameters without entering the Dataslayer website, you have two options:

Use the Copy Decoded URL option and change the parameters before introduce it in the platform of your choice.
Use the Copy URL option which is not encrypted, and introduce it to a URL decoding platform.

This URL can be entered into any URL decoder.

For this example, we have used this page to decode the URL generated by API Query Manager.

Once decoded you can change the parameter or parameters you want.

Let's change the date range and remove one metric.

Make sure you do not remove any formatting from the URL, try to remove and modify it correctly or errors may occur.

Done! We have modified the URL without entering into our API Query Manager platform. You can use the URL modified normally.

If you encode the URL once the changes have been made, errors may occur so you can use the decoded URL with the parameters changed as is in the platform of your choice.

Results

As you can see these are the results of the original query:

And these are the results of the query modified, there is a lot more data because we changed the date range from this month to this year, and you don't see the impressions because we eliminated that metric:
