How to connect data to Tableau via Dataslayer API

Using the Dataslayer API Query Manager product, you can easily create queries and connect your data from various data sources to Tableau. Once you've started, you can schedule refreshes for your data in Tableau.



Building a query in API Query Manager


Log in via our website.

Select "Start trial" on the API product or click on the "Dataslayer API" link at the top.

Click on "New query" to create your URL.

Authenticate the data source you prefer and build the query you need.


Write a query name to identify your URL.


Select the "Tableau" format and the timezone you want.


Copy the "Short URL" or the Standard one.


(Optional) Preview your data on the "View data" button.


Inserting our data in Tableau


Download and open Tableau.


Click on More > Web data connector.


A pop-up window will appear. Introduce https://app.dataslayer.ai/tableau as URL.


Once here paste the URL you copied before from our API Query Manager product and click on Submit.


Wait for the data to load. Then click on update now to be able to see the table.


Done! You have imported your data into Tableau.
