Facebook and Instagram Insights bug: Can't see my accounts

NOTE: THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN SOLVED BY FACEBOOK. YOU CAN ACESS YOUR ACCOUNTS AGAIN.

Some users have recently reported to us a bug where their Meta accounts (Facebook and Instagram) are not loading in Dataslayer. What causes this bug and how can it be fixed? In this article we explain it to you

Why does this bug happen?

Dataslayer uses the official Meta APIs (Facebook and Instagram) to display the data. These APIs have received an update, wich without prior notice, requires accepting new permissions to display accounts. Due to a bug, this change has been applied retroactively to all versions of the API, which means that without the new permissions accounts cannot be accessed.

This bug has already been reported to Facebook's official support, so Meta is already aware of its existence: https://developers.facebook.com/community/threads/672345581624608/

The problem depends directly on Facebook and is external to Dataslayer.

How can this be solved?

It is possible that Meta will release a new update that will fix it directly.

This new version of the API requires us to ask for new permissions, which our team has already requested to Facebook, and we are waiting for them to approve.

This means that once approved by Facebook, you will have to accept new permissions for our connectors to work. Once they are granted, and accepted by the users, the accounts can be accessed normally again.

To accept the new permissions, you will have to follow these steps.

As always, please contact us via our live chat on our website or via email if you still have doubts or questions. We are happy to help!
